Red Oak

Princeton, New Jersey

An otherwise undistinguished office lobby is set apart by a cascade of oak leaves – in the colorful fire of peak foliage – slowly turning in the building's air currents.

Red Oak

Twenty-three large, oak leaf outlines suspended from the ceiling of the three-story lobby. Each graceful wire-form leaf supports about ten smaller, colored leaves that move with the air currents to invoke the spirit of Fall in New England. The moiré patterns of the perforated aluminum create the illusion of shimmering movement as the air currents activate and turn each of the suspended forms.
